Guernsey U7 Mixed v Jersey U7 Mixed

The U7’s squad embarked on their maiden competitive journey this week, traveling to Guernsey for a series of round-robin matches that would ultimately culminate in a triumphant trophy win.

The team's fortunes seemed blessed from the outset when they encountered Sir Clive Woodward—the legendary former England rugby coach—at the airport, a serendipitous meeting that appeared to set a positive tone for the tournament ahead.

Opening match set a competitive tone for Round 1 as the Guernsey and Jersey met for the first time.  In challenging wet conditions, with rain cascading throughout the encounter. The downpour did little to dampen the competitive spirit, as the matches delivered impressive scoring across the board. The round concluded with mixed results: one draw, one victory for Guernsey, and one win for Jersey.

Following a brief intermission as thunder and lightning cleared the skies, Jersey regained momentum in Round 2. The team secured two additional victories in closely contested matches, strengthening their position in the tournament standings.

Round 3 proved to be the tournament's most tightly contested stage, with every match hanging in the balance. However, the squad's resilience shone through as Jersey sealed two crucial wins in the final round, ultimately claiming the tournament trophy.
