Guernsey U14 Boys v Jersey U14 Boys

In extremely wet and challenging conditions in Guernsey, the Jersey U14 Siam squad started the match with real intent. From the kickoff, they applied sustained pressure, dominating territory and possession. Their early efforts were rewarded when Soren produced a powerful run to finish in the corner, giving Jersey the first try of the match. The difficult conversion was unsuccessful.

Jersey continued to press hard, showing strong attacking phases, but were unable to break through Guernsey’s defensive line again in the first half. Guernsey then capitalised on their opportunities, scoring two tries, both of which were successfully converted and shifting the momentum before the break.

The second half developed into a competitive, end-to-end contest. Jersey battled hard but began to lose some structure, allowing Guernsey to take advantage and add another try which was successfully converted.
Despite torrential rain, a slippery ball, and difficult footing, the Jersey players showed great resilience and determination. Their persistence paid off late in the game, with excellent teamwork creating an opportunity for Zach to touch down near the posts. Charlie Richardson calmly stepped up and slotted the conversion between the uprights to close out the match.

A tough encounter in testing conditions, but one that showcased Jersey’s spirit, teamwork, and determination throughout.
