Lewes 27-15 Jersey U14 Boys

Match Report
Lewes U14s 27 – 15 Jersey U14s
Jersey Show Spirit and Power Despite Defeat
Jersey U14s put in a spirited and physical performance away to Lewes on Sunday, narrowly falling 27–15 in a competitive and entertaining fixture.
Despite the result, Jersey impressed throughout, particularly up front where their forwards showed real strength and determination in the scrum. Time and again, Jersey put Lewes under pressure, winning valuable possession and territory through sheer effort and teamwork.
Jersey’s points came through Zac, who powered over for a fine solo effort, and Eli, who crossed twice following excellent phases of attacking play. Both took their chances clinically and were well supported by strong running from the midfield and relentless work from the pack.
Lewes proved sharp in open play, taking their opportunities well to stay ahead on the scoreboard, but Jersey’s resolve never wavered. Even in the closing minutes, the visitors kept pressing forward, defending bravely and showing great unity across the pitch.
After the match, Head Coach Justin praised his side’s display, saying:
“I’m really proud of the boys and how they performed today. They showed huge character, battled for everything, and played some great rugby. The result doesn’t reflect how close the game really was, and there’s so much to build on from this performance.”
Jersey may have come up short on the scoreboard, but their performance was full of heart, commitment, and promise for the season ahead.
