A challenging day to play rugby was very evident in the first 40 with mistakes from both teams. Neither side could get going despite best efforts in attack. Jersey spent a lot of time camped on their try line and managed to exit well via the boot of Lyle Pritchard. Both teams showed desire in defence to keep the scores 0-0 at half time.

Jersey will look back on missed opportunities at the start of the second half, great ball carries by Dexter Frigot battered away at the Horsham line. Harry Le Brocq made a fantastic break only to be cut short at the final seconds by good cover defence.

Horsham became organised and really shortened their game up to chip into the Jersey half, resulting in an opening try. Jersey responded well through another great carry from Dexter Frigot who was awarded Man Of The Match.

Unfortunately Jersey did not gather the restart which meant more Horsham pressure resulting in a last minute winner from the hosts.

Congratulations to Horsham, a well organised victory in tricky conditions. Jersey RFC Colts now look forward to their Sussex Cup Quarter Final vs Hove on January 25th.
