Welcome to the Jersey Reds Minis & Juniors

Welcome to Jersey where every day is a new adventure….

Located some 100 miles south of mainland Britain yet only 14 miles from the coast of France, the Island of Jersey sits in the Bay of St Malo and enjoys a mild year-round climate.

Measuring just 9 x 5 miles, with a resident population of around 110,000 people you'll be amazed at the wealth of activities and facilities available to the visitor. Ranging from great sporting facilities through to the natural beauty of our beaches, Jersey is an island of discovery - buzzing with life - whatever time of the year you choose to visit.

Founded in 1989, the JRFC Minis & Juniors (previously the JRFC Academy) now boasts over 650 players spread over 14 squads. The M&Js are run under the aegis of the Jersey Rugby Football Club and are affiliated to Hampshire RFC.

Mission Statement

The mission of the M&Js is: To provide the educational and social opportunities for all young people, regardless of ability and gender, to realise their fullest potential and play Rugby Union Football to their highest personal standard in a safe, fun and non-discriminatory environment and to promote and model the core values of rugby, good sportsmanship and a strong sense of community.

An elected committee helps steer the M&Js and each squad is overseen by a manager, a qualified lead coach and assistant coaches. In total over 120 volunteers help out each week.

The U12s, U13s, U14s, U15s, U16s & Colts (U18s) play in the Sussex Leagues - almost all fixtures involve our teams playing away. The younger players also have the opportunity to travel for friendly fixtures or festivals. In total the JRM&Js spend well over £200,000 on travel during the season.

The Club also welcomes and positively encourages many visiting teams during the season.

The M&Js has huge numbers training at virtually age level, every effort will be made to welcome and play visiting sides even when there are League commitments - should two sides wish to visit at the same time round-robin games can be organised.
